Do you have any opinion about the Girl Scout cookie boycott?
The Girl Scouts of the USA has sent threatening letters to at least two small pro-life groups that have been critical of Girl Scout collaborations with Planned Parenthood and other abortion advocacy groups. Who knew that those little girls had lawyers. Sales must be slow inside their billion dollar business to cause legal letters to flow through the expensive postal services. With the cost of the stamp the girls must be pissed off? We know that you cannot believe a damn thing that Wendy Davis in Texas says about anything. If she fully supports the Girl Scouts, keep researching.
In my opinion this is all a mess. How in the world did the adults get our young girls in the middle of some abortion funding plan? Can we stop the parents from using the children to collect penny's? It seems to me that the Girl Scouts are a little edgy like other hard left groups. The mothers voted for Obama so now we have ObamaCare and Girl Scout Cookie Boycotts all linked to Planned Parenthood?
If the Girl Scout Adult Leadership wants to abort - kill - murder innocent unborn children I see no reason why the survivors of Planned Parenthood cannot eat cookies. It's clear that some people believe in life and others think it's o.k. to kill unborn children but, we all agree that Girl Scout Cookies are great but, maybe their leadership needs a lesson from the people.
If the Girl Scout Leadership is going to send money, (cash) to the abortion clinics over at Planned Parenthood to be used for God knows what, everybody should know. It's that tiny little bit of money, that change in your pocket, that funds a better future for the young ladies, not abortions.
The little girl scouts don't understand Planned Parenthood and they really don't know they survived the ax, or coat hanger gang at Planned Parenthood.
Every human on earth should put up on the internet the Girl Scout Logo and we're talking in the same numbers that match abortions every month.
Post the Girl Scout Logo with your own Boycott the Girl Scout Cookie message on the internet today.
Understand you might get a dirty letter from Brian Crawford. Why, by the way, is a guy in charge over at the Girl Scouts and not some nice lady. Maybe a women is in charge and Brian just does the mean stuff with the letter mailing, I don't know.
The poor lawyer, under paid, over education, stressed just a little by the yelling women, crying little girls and truck loads of Girl Scout Cookies sitting all over docks, inside S.U.V's as their mom's try to get benefits from ACORN and ObamaCare and sell those damn cookies.
Maybe the Girl Scouts should be forced not to use the little cute innocent girls as their billion dollar sales staff? Child labor laws. Child slavery laws. Yes, you can boycott or Cookiecott the Girl Scouts and you can even write about it, send letters maybe even print T-shirts.
Since the beginning of the Girl Scout cookie boycott, exclusively announced at Breitbart News late last month, LifeNews has extensively reported on the connection between Planned Parenthood and the Girl Scouts. Why would the girl scouts be afraid of the truth. Girl scout parents have rights and the home office of the Girl Scouts has every right to kill off or at least trim down their future sales staff.
LifeNews editor Steve Ertelt announced Monday that he had received a letter threatening legal action. In it, Girl Scout executive Brian Crawford complained about “articles that outline alleged ties to Planned Parenthood” and that “GSUSA has an obligation to protect the Girl Scout name.”
Crawford insisted, “Girl Scouts of the USA does not have a partnership or any relationship with Planned Parenthood and does not intend to initiate one.” He demanded that LifeNews cease using the Girl Scout logo. What Brian should tell us is how much money has moved to Planned Parenthood?
Ertelt’s is not the only group threatened by the Girl Scouts in this important cookie-selling season. It seems cookie selling might be more important that baby-saving season?
Ann Saladin, a St. Louis house-wife, mother, and former Girl Scout leader, runs a tiny website called MyGirlScoutCouncil.com, which is ranked 194,756th out of all U.S. websites by Alexa.com. She also received such a letter, telling her that she cannot use the Girl Scout logo. The letter from Brian Crawford said: Is Brian mean? How long has Brian been in charge of all those girls? Does Brian like Girl Scout cookies? Does Brian like Baby's? Who did Brian vote for? Does the Girl Scouts give money to the Democrats?
It seems the Girl Scouts can get a little bitchy? We demand that your organization immediately cease using the Girl Scouts® logo on your flyers. We would appreciate receiving your assurances by return mail, email, or fax on or before February 7, 2014 that you will comply with our demand.
Some have criticized the various small groups calling for a boycott of Girl Scout cookies by characterizing them as bullying little girls. That's silly because we want the future girl scouts to live. Let the cookie sellers live and prosper. Simply stop buying Girl Scout Cookies. Stop the cash going to Planned Parenthood.
The groups' answer is that the Girl Scouts have an annual revenue of close to $1 billion dollars and an annual budget of more than $100 million. The Girl Scouts is just another corrupt business with political ties to the hard left Barack Obama Communist Socialist Maoist agenda to control the birth rate by killing off unborn babies with the help of Planned Parenthood or am I wrong?
The groups protesting the Girl Scouts' alleged connection to Planned Parenthood have minuscule budgets or no budgets at all.
Steve Ertelt told Breitbart News:
The Girl Scouts are clearly threatened by LifeNews’ reporting on their multiple links to Planned Parenthood, their hiring of abortion activists to key positions, and their promotion of abortion advocates like Wendy Davis.
Their letter is a not-so-veiled intimidation tactic designed to get LifeNews to stop our reporting and to get pro-life groups to stop boycotting them.
Under advice of counsel, Ann Saladin agreed to the Girl Scouts’ demand and has taken down the logo. Steve Ertelt is expected to give the Girl Scouts an answer to the threatening letter on Tuesday.
Boycott the Girl Scout Cookie Cartel.
Girl Scout watchdog groups say Chavez has cleared up nothing and responded with a flurry of fact checks provided to Breitbart News.
When Chavez insists the Girl Scouts have never had a relationship with Planned Parenthood, Girl Scout critics point to the 2004 admission made by Chavez’s predecessor, Kathy Cloninger, on The Today Show: “We have relationships with our church communities, with YWCAs, and with Planned Parenthood organizations across the country.”
Beyond this admission by the former Girl Scout CEO, Ann Saladin, a stay-at-home-mom and former Girl Scout leader, has documented other examples of such collusion on the website MyGirlScoutCouncil.com.
Critics also point to the annual million dollar a year contribution made by the Girl Scouts to its international umbrella group, the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, a group that overtly promotes and supports abortion rights.
Critics also point to the hostility Girl Scouts USA has shown to the pro-life cause in some cases. For example, two years ago Girl Scout employee Renise Rodriquez stopped by her Tucson Girl Scout office after her work hours wearing a “Pray to End Abortion” t-shirt. She claims her supervisor ordered her to turn the shirt inside out or leave the office. Rodriquez resigned.
Christy Volanski, a former Girl Scout mom and leader of the opposition, told Breitbart News:
GSUSA Anna Maria Chavez passionately claims Girl Scouts USA believes "reproductive issues" are deeply private matters best left to families. Yet we have example after example of GSUSA and local councils exposing girls to resources, content and organizations that specifically advocate for abortion rights. We have witnessed the Girl Scout double speak on this topic for years - this latest video by Chavez is just more of the same disappointing deceitful rhetoric. Can they just be honest?
As to the Chavez complaint that the boycotters are angry about politics, John Pisciotta, the leader of the boycott and director of Pro-Life Waco, says that is a straw man argument as it is a charge the boycotters have never made.
Pisciotta says the boycotters did not single out the Girl Scout's Wendy Davis tweet because she is a Democrat running for Governor of Texas but because she is a symbol of abortion advocacy. Davis is chiefly known for her filibuster of a late-term abortion ban in the Texas legislature. “We simply stated that they have in their tweet about Wendy Davis advanced her as role model for girls,” said Pisciotta.
Mary Hasson, who has written extensively about the Girl Scouts for the Catholic press, told Breitbart News:
This is classic Girl Scouts—say one thing and do another. I’ll believe the Girl Scouts are serious about respecting family privacy on sex and reproduction when they stop sending hundreds of thousands of dollars to support the “sexual rights” platform of the international Girl Scouts, when they stop promoting leading abortion advocates—like Nancy Pelosi and Amy Richards, who "selectively reduced" her triplets down to one—as role models, and when they stop telling the girls that the pro-abortion Population Council is a great example of an advocacy organization.
Critics also blanche at Chavez’s statement: “To quote the Girl Scout Promise: We are committed to serving God and our country.” God became optional back in the 90s.
Cookie sales started January 4 and will last from six to eight weeks, depending on the area of the country. There is no indication that the cookiecott or the controversy will end any time soon.
