America celebrated the 240th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, which condemned King George III for "(obstructing) the Administration of Justice." On Tuesday the American left celebrated as the federal government obstructed the administration of justice on behalf of one of its ruling families, the Clintons.

Last week the attorney general of the United States met with former President Bill Clinton, whose wife and foundation were under FBI investigation. They both insisted nothing untoward happened. Days later The New York Times reported that Hillary Clinton might offer Lynch a position in her administration.

Over the holiday weekend the Obama administration announced that President Obama would fly to North Carolina with Clinton aboard Air Force One in order to campaign with her. Americans would, in part, foot the bill for the travel.

On Tuesday FBI Director James Comey called a supposedly impromptu press conference to announce his findings in the investigation of Clinton's private email server. He began by announcing that nobody knew what he was about to say, which seems implausible given that Obama was preparing to go onstage with Clinton at the time. Is it even within the realm of imagination that Obama would stand next to Clinton hours after Comey announced the intent to prosecute her? Of course not.

Then, Comey proceeded to lay out all the reasons why Clinton should have been indicted: She set up multiple private email servers, all of which were vulnerable to hack; she did not set them up in order to use one mobile device, as she has so often stated; she transmitted and received highly classified material; her team deleted emails that could have contained relevant and classified information; she knew that classified information was crossing her server. He concluded that Clinton's team was "extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information."

This was all criminal activity.

But Clinton is a member of the Royal Family. Thus, said Comey, she was innocent. Comey tried to say he wouldn't recommend prosecution because she didn't have the requisite intent, but the law doesn't require intent; it requires merely "gross negligence" under 18 U.S.C. 793. In fact, even the level of intent required to charge under statutes like 18 U.S.C. 1924 and 18 U.S.C. 798 was clearly met: the intent to place classified information in a non-approved, non-classified place.

Nonetheless, Clinton would be allowed to roam free -- and become president. "To be clear," Comey intoned, "this is not to suggest that in similar circumstances, a person who engaged in this activity would face no consequences. To the contrary, those individuals are often subject to security or administrative sanctions. But that is not what we are deciding now."

One rule for the peons, one for the potentates.

This is the Wilsonian legacy, finally achieved after a century of waiting: the Big Man (or Woman), unanswerable to the law, approved by the population without regard to equality under the law. We now elect our dictators. And they are unanswerable to us -- except, presumably, once every four years. The commonfolk, on the other hand, find themselves on the wrong side of the government gun every day.

Tyranny doesn't start with jackboots. It begins with the notion that a different law applies to the powerful than to the powerless. Under Barack Obama tyranny has become a way of life. Ronald Reagan always said that freedom was one generation away from extinction. It looks like we've finally found that generation.

That’s a lot of debt,

“The average household that has credit card debt owes $16,000. That number is $27,000 for auto loans, $48,000 for student loans, and $169,000 for mortgages,” Slate’s review found.

That’s a lot of debt, especially the credit card and student loan figures. Mortgages and auto loans have relatively low interest rates, and they involve assets with considerable intrinsic value. Homes can appreciate in value, and provide useful equity to the homeowner even when they don’t. Auto loans have fixed end points after a reasonable number of years, and the car has trade-in value toward the next purchase. Homes are necessities, and vehicles usually are. If the loans go bad, financial institutions have a chance of recovering the assets.

Much has been written about the student-loan bubble and the skyrocketing cost of college tuition, which is now socially marketed as a necessity, even though it’s not. Credit-card debt has such high interest rates that consumers can make sizable monthly payments without reducing the principal much. Online shopping has opened new pipelines into those high-interest accounts. Answer honestly: how recently did the reader make an online purchase with a credit card that you probably wouldn’t have made, if it involved going to a brick-and-mortar retail outlet, and/or paying in cash?

Credit cards are easier to obtain, at a younger age, with much higher balances, than they were for previous generations. Student debt loads are much higher, and to be brutally honest, the product they purchase is worth much less. One of the great driving forces behind today’s social and political turmoil is the entirely justified anxiety young people feel about paying huge sums of money for degrees that don’t lead into good jobs, even when the degree isn’t in some useless or actively counter-productive subject. (What employer relishes hiring a young person with minimal work experience, whose college education involved learning to hate businessmen and capitalism?)

The problem with this debt load is the extreme difficulty of paying it off, even for people with stable jobs. That average mortgage payment will be well over a thousand dollars, with taxes and other fees included. The car payments on an average $27,000 loan will be over $300 for most, depending on the terms.

It’s harder to estimate average student loan payments, but a Brookings study in 2014 found that “seventy-five percent of households made payments of less than $300 each month and 50 percent of households made payments of less than $160.” Call it $150, then add $500 a month for minimal credit card, and you’ve got almost $2,000 a month going out the door for loan payments. That would leave most of the credit card balances untouched, while the mortgage and student loan balances would take decades to pay off.

The average American household income in 2014 was $51,939, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Using the crudest back-of-the-envelope math, that means more than half of average monthly income is going into loan payments, especially if it’s a family with two car payments and two student loan payments for the heads of household.

And those are just average numbers, which means a large number of Americans are inmuch worse shape. A Pew Charitable Trusts report in January found that average household savings are well below recommended levels for coping with emergencies, such as job loss or unexpected major expenses. A large percentage of households had less than one month of emergency income available; for lower-income households, the cushion amounted to less than two weeks. Three to six months’ worth of income in emergency funds is the level recommended by financial advisers.

The Pew report highlighted fluctuations in income as a major cause of this financial instability, but surely high credit balances would play a major role as well. In the good times, high credit balances are accumulated, leading to high minimum payments that mostly disappear into interest. When bad times arrive, those credit balances loom overhead like a mountain.

Many of us seem to be accepting huge loan balances as a fact of life, much as we ignore government debt that consumes hundreds of billions of dollars in interest payments. This sets the stage for revolution, when circumstances force us to confront our debt load… and the burden we’ve ignored for so long suddenly seems bitterly unfair.

The same thing will happen at the government level eventually, on the day when Uncle Sam can’t keep racking up massive deficits, interest on the debt chews mercilessly into general spending, and it finally becomes necessary to shortchange some government dependents in order to pay off others. The consumer debt crisis may well hit first, if an economic slowdown turns the flat income growth of the Obama years into a major decline.

That’s an eventuality welcomed by statists, not feared. When a debt crisis hits, they’ll be the ones offering “relief” by nationalizing credit industries and forcing cramdowns. Debt is an instrument of control in the hands of politicians. It’s no coincidence that making loans easier to get has been a major element of leftist policy, even before they started ramping up the subprime mortgage crisis, and viciously attacking anyone who dared to point out the dangers as a racist monster who didn’t want people of color to have nice houses.

Combine a full-spectrum assault on credit-worthiness as a racist conspiracy, with the transformation of student loans into a government-run millstone that every young person is required to wear around his neck, and the constant demonization of the financial industry that makes it all possible, and you have an impressive battle plan against capitalism.

At its core, capitalism assumes responsibility is a vital component of liberty: we are not free, unless we accept responsibility for our actions. The growing credit crisis will end with government promising to negate responsibility. Those who loaned the money to make so many delightful purchases possible will be castigated as villains, while the statists will offer reductions of their student loan burden as inducements to “vote the right way.” The private sector will be faulted for not offering enough jobs and salary to pay off the student loan burden… by the same people who howl in outrage at the thought of American businesses exerting some control over academic curriculum, to get the kind of employees they really want.

A debt revolt would also help the Left degrade the public’s appreciation for property rights, including loan contracts. Social judgments will replace contract law: those SOBs in the banking industry have made more than enough money from their loans, so they should accept their cramdowns and haircuts in silence.

What cannot continue forever will eventually end. The American credit load is an alarming precursor to crisis. There are many ways to imagine income levels dropping enough to set off the credit bomb, but not many scenarios in which average income surges, borrowing trails off, savings increase, and the debt mountain gets chipped away.

A review of current social and political trends – not just in America, but across the developed world – suggests unsustainable consumer and government debt will end suddenly, and badly, with no good options in sight, and lots of angry questions about why stronger warnings were not issued sooner.

With the GOP in Cleveland Ohio looming the Elite Establishment had to decide.  Were they going to kill Donald Trump off in a brokered convention?  Despite all the press, good and bad, the GOP RNC Republican Elite Establishment has decided to disrupt the convention at all costs and force Donald Trump to the side lines. 

The GOP RNC DNC leadership are desperate to create the illusion that they are for the people but it's not working this time.  Hillary Rodham Clinton is expected to be indicted for her top security email handling which leaves the Democratic Progressive Socialist Party with slim choices that is topped by crazy Joe Biden.  The GOP is trying to manage Donald Trump but it's proved impossible because millions of primary voters have given Trump considerable power over the Republican Party and Ted Cruz.

Conservatives at a meeting in Washington on Thursday had "absolute consensus" on trying to stop Republican front-runner Donald Trump from getting enough delegates to clinch the party's presidential nomination, according to a source familiar with the discussion.

Conservative leader Bob Fischer gathered more than a dozen activists and Republican lawmakers to discuss how to stop Trump from getting their party's nomination.

The source said the consensus was around preventing Trump from reaching 1,237 delegates, and then stopping him at the convention. The source added that the conservatives are optimistic for this option, adding they believe "it is possible."

The idea of a third party being formed to combat Trump remained a bone of contention for the group, the source said, adding, there was "real division" over the idea. But there was also discussion that if Trump is the GOP nominee, then "the GOP ceases to be a party for traditional conservatives, who must go elsewhere." The thought process at this session was to work with "an existing third party instead of trying for ballot access." That would probably be the existing Libertarian or Constitution parties.

This source said the meeting was made up mostly of "diehards of the conservative movement," including, "Reagan revolutionaries, if you will."

Not all the attendees appeared to be giving up on Trump's existing challengers.

"I'm there to support Ted Cruz," said Mike Farris, a Republican lawyer, as he left the Army and Navy Club, where the group met behind closed doors for close to three hours. "There's a lot of Cruz support."

Rep. Trent Franks, a member of the House Freedom Caucus, attended the meeting briefly. So did conservative leader Bill Wichterman.

The event was advertised as a meeting of the group Conservatives of Faith. Erick Erickson, who has floated the idea of a third-party candidate against Trump dialed in to the meeting by phone.

With wins in at least three nominating contests on Tuesday, Trump is the overwhelming front-runner in Republican delegates, though he still faces the possibility of a contested convention this summer, particularly if either of his remaining rivals, Cruz or Ohio Gov. John Kasich, gathers momentum

House Speaker Paul Ryan said Thursday it’s looking “more likely” the Republican Party will face an open convention in July – meaning, a floor fight to pick a nominee – and that Donald Trump and the party might want to accept that “reality.”

Ryan discussed the possibility with reporters as he noted he’s the chairman of the convention and will have to “bone up on all the rules.” He openly acknowledged that – even as Trump puts away another round of primary victories – a convention where no candidate has reached the necessary 1,237 delegates could actually happen this year. 

“Nothing has changed other than the perception that this is more likely to become an open convention than we thought before,” Ryan said. “So, we're getting our minds around the idea that this could very well become a reality, and therefore those of us who are involved in the convention need to respect that.”

He said his role as speaker is to be “dispassionate and to be Switzerland,” and ensure that delegates abide by the rules in making their decisions.

Ryan also tried to tamp down speculation he might be put forward as an eleventh-hour alternative to front-runner Trump. This, after ex-Speaker John Boehner made an off-the-cuff comment that he’d back Ryan if Republicans are stymied on choosing one of the three remaining candidates.

Ryan said Thursday he’s essentially told Boehner to “knock it off.”

“It's not going to be me. It should be somebody running for president,” Ryan told reporters.

Trump, with each set of wins, has tried to look ahead to the general election contest, which he presumes will be against Hillary Clinton. He declared once again Tuesday that he would win the nomination.

But speculation swirls over the possibility that Trump might not clinch the nomination before July.

Meanwhile, Capitol Hill leaders once again found themselves debating Trump’s candidacy Thursday.

On the Democratic side, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., accused Republicans of fostering the conditions for years that allowed Trump’s candidacy to thrive. Reid said if Majority Leader Mitch McConnell wonders where Trump came from, “He should take a look in the mirror.”

He said the anti-Muslim rhetoric on the right “spawned Donald Trump,” as did “anti-Latino” sentiments.

“The Republican Party has become without question the party of Trump,” Reid said.

Ryan said Thursday he doesn’t think he’ll have to denounce Trump’s campaign overall based on his rhetoric.

But he did scold Trump over a comment that there could be “riots” if he doesn’t win at the convention.

Ryan said to hint at violence is “unacceptable.”.

Former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain weighed in on the growing number of protests against front-runner Donald Trumps’ potential 2016 nomination.

“Let me get this straight, Anonymous and Black Lives Matter want to determine the Republican nominee? I don’t think so; especially if it is Donald Trump. Secondly, he hasn’t sown up the nomination yet, but I happen to believe that he will go into the convention with 1,237 delegates in order to secure the nomination,” Cain told FOX Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo.

Cain then addressed the Black Lives Matter movement specifically.

“It is a non-movement that has two objectives: destruction and distraction.  They don’t really have a mission, because all lives matter.  So it is a threat that I believe the Trump organization is going to ignore.”

Cain weighed in what is needed to stop the threats of protests and riots.

“This establishment Republican group that is trying to stop Trump, they ought to stop trying to derail Trump, because what is happening – this group, Black Lives Matter and all these other groups – they see a crack in the Republican Party, and it’s real.  If the Republican Party comes together and just simply say, ‘whoever gets the most number of delegates win and we will support the nominee,’ I believe that will make the threat of riots and violence by these other groups minimal.”

Cain then discussed the increasingly divisive language on the campaign trail.

“Identity politics in terms of pandering, this is what the Democrats are good at; pandering to different groups to attract Democrat votes, and particularly the black voters and then identity politics in terms of trying to divide us with violence.  I didn’t hear any outrage when Bernie Sanders said, ‘we’re in the midst of a political revolution.’ Did he mean that figuratively or non-figuratively?  Now all of a sudden Donald Trump uses the word riot and it’s a big uproar, it’s hypocrisy.”

On whether President Obama should speak out in an effort to squash some of the vitriolic language, Cain said, “He has the bully pulpit, he can say, ‘we don’t need violence or the threat of violence in this presidential election.’” Cain continued, “He can say something, but I doubt if he’s going to say something.  But as soon as one incident broke out at a Donald Trump rally he had something to say.”

The GOP RNC is being forced to steal the Donald Trump victory so their risky and treacherous megalomaniac plan is to ambush Donald Trump at the Cleveland RNC Republican convention.  

Donald Trump understands the anger of the vast majority of the American middle class and stealing away the honest vote would mean riots and a civil divide that could lead to the second civil war.  The GOP RNC DNC wants people to trust the party but the majority agree that both parties are corrupted.  The establishment leadership understands that there is definitive evidence against Hillary Rodham Clinton on one side and the millions of voters have pledged for Donald Trump.

Secretly imposed convention rules are being drafted now to rule over the GOP RNC convention and the calculations have been made.  Donald Trump will be forced into extinction but this is a dangerous collision course that will result in national violence from the middle class.

Recklessly the GOP RNC Republicans are going for the throat, but the voter, contrary to all planning will fight back.
