Thanks for the Solar Panels, Electric Car and free Home Insulation Package and that Free Home Furnace in the basement; One tax policy that is ripe for fixing is the Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC). The ITC currently allows homeowners and businesses to deduct a portion of the cost of installation of solar panels until 2021. In 2015, Congress approved this tax cut in a deal with the Obama White House. What bothers me is that the implementation of the ITC means that Americans who do not choose to put solar panels on their rooftops have to subsidize those that do. Also, it turns out that taxpayers are also subsidizing some of the wealthiest people on the planet.

Consider Elon Musk, the owner of SolarCity – which recently merged into his other company, Tesla – is the largest provider of residential solar panels in the nation. Musk is the 87th richest man in the world and someone worth admiring for his financial successes that have created thousands of jobs. However, I am not supportive of tax policies like the ITC that put more money in the pockets of billionaires.

Another government incentive that Elon Musk benefits from is the Zero Emissions Vehicle (ZEV) tax credit. This policy allows people who purchase electronic/plug in vehicles to deduct $7,500 from their federal taxes. This credit phases out after any manufacturer sells 20,000 qualified vehicles. The only automaker even coming close to this 20,000 threshold is Tesla and Elon Musk.

Now, Musk has publicly said he does not support the ZEV, stating on a recent earnings call: “the reality actually is that, if electric vehicle incentives went away tomorrow, Tesla’s competitive position would improve.” If Musk can’t have the tax credit much longer, he doesn’t want his competitors to have it either. So Musk uses the tax credit to get a leg up and then wants to eliminate it to punish his competitors when he can’t get it anymore? Oddly enough, the only profitable quarter Tesla has seen in a long time was selling $139 million in pollution tax credits to other automakers.

To me, the lesson of Elon Musk – who, according to a report by the Los Angeles Times in May of 2015, has been the beneficiary of almost $5 billion dollars in government subsidies – is that these green tax credits allow businesses to subvert the free-market to their own advantage. I don’t blame Musk, nor is this piece meant to be a critique of him. The business world is a tough place, and competitors need to seek out any advantage they can get. I just don’t think the American tax code should be a tool used by corporate titans to gain leverage or advantage over each other. Success should be determined by the quality and price of their products and services in the free market.

More than 2,000 pregnancy centers provide medical testing, prenatal care, ultrasounds and child-birth classes, among other services to women facing unplanned pregnancies, empowering them with life-affirming options.

In addition to those resources specifically for pregnant women, the federal government funds roughly 1,200 federally qualified health clinics across the country that served 21 million people in 2012 alone and often provide birth control options, cancer screenings and women’s health exams, not to mention a wide-range of primary health services for women, children and men.

Planned Parenthood is the leader of a gruesome and ruthless industry, which daily adds to the 56 million unborn children and countless women harmed by abortion.

The videos released over the last week have merely shown the nation where the logic of abortion-on-demand inevitably leads: to where tiny livers and lungs are useful for harvesting, but the nameless baby they come from is too small, dependent, disabled, or simply too inconvenient to be allowed to continue living. The value of a life within Planned Parenthood’s walls is measured by its utility and convenience – rather than the inherent dignity of every human being.

Regardless of the outcome of the very necessary congressional inquiry, there is no reason to continue entangling federal money with an organization nearly allof whose pregnancy-related services are abortion procedures.

There is nothing stopping individuals, organizations and businesses from continuing to fund Planned Parenthood with private dollars (although, requests by Coca-Cola, Ford and Xerox to remove their names from Planned Parenthood’s corporate donors list may be indication that even the private sector isn’t too happy with the latest, horrific revelations about the non-profit).

Policymakers looking to put limited taxpayer funds to more efficient and effective use should redirect those dollars to centers and clinics that can provide more comprehensive care for women. All women – but especially those facing difficult circumstances – deserve better care for their health and more options than the cold doors of an abortion facility.

No society that is truly committed to protecting basic human rights can continue funding an industry that harms women, takes the lives of the most vulnerable children and cheapens our respect for life – especially when its leader allegedly harvests and sells tiny organs for profit.

Those should be all the facts Congress needs to end funding of Planned Parenthood.

The government cannot halt your freedom of speech or inspire your neighbors and friends to spy on you through any form of political censorship.

This president has requested that others spy of your speech, behaviors and your thoughts. The censorship of thoughts, communications and actions are not new to human history, President Barack Hussein Obama needs to refer to historical events before he attempts to control the population of free citizens. His propaganda, his needs for his stated objectives are no more important than yours. His powers are limited by the Constitution of the United States which he has disregarded.

Independent journalism to verify and confirm the actions of the government, including congress and the judicial has been made voiceless in recent years making the free citizen limited in knowledge. Newspaper articles are now limited and offer limited details. Television news is owned by massive business and their own financial interests and political agendas limit their coverage and in depth coverage is almost nonexistent.

The republic of China has instituted thousands of persons as their government internet police and it seems that President Barack Hussein Obama will be monitoring the voices, emails, and communications of the free citizens of the United States of America to control the population.

His attempt to hinder publications and distribution of ideas are the same as Arab socialists in Iraq, Communists in China and also Cuban media among a few. This sanitization policy allows President Obama to control the thoughts and communications of the free citizens.

It is certain that the U.S. government must have already hired censors to collect and report offensive or challenging thoughts and ideas from the people. There are only a few rational and reasonable reasons to censor. This censorship must be used to stifle, gag and repress some opposing thought and stop free citizens from arguing against the presidential plans and actions.

We are now moving quickly to a near-censorship situation. The government will hold information and the free citizens of the United States will barely know true and real facts. Through these presidential actions the free citizens of the United States will fear open, honest, safe and free communications of ideas and actions.

Your rights as a free citizen of the United States of America are now in full Peril. Your freedom to assemble, your freedom of movement, freedom of association, freedom of religion, freedom of information, thought and press is something that tens of thousands of Americans have paid for with their very life.

I urge you to write the President today and counsel him against his socialist activities, attempting to destroy capitalism, negating free enterprise and freedom of speech as he fails to understand that the United States of America is governed by our Declaration of Independence, Constitution of the United States and Our Amendments by the people and for the people.

Immigration officer union sounds alarm over DHS order for millions of blank work permits, green cards

A union that represents thousands of federal immigration officers is raising alarm after the U.S. government ordered supplies to create millions of blank work permits and green cards, touching off speculation that the Obama administration may be preparing executive action on immigration.

The Associated Press reported last week that the new federal contract proposal from the Homeland Security Department would allow the government to buy enough supplies to make as many as 34 million immigrant work permits and residency cards over the next five years. Though the Obama administration now says the proposal is unrelated to any executive action, the move raised concerns the administration is preparing for a surge of work permit applications from illegal immigrants.

Kenneth Palinkas, the president of the National Citizenship and Immigration Services Council, said in a press release Monday that he believes the move indicates the administration is planning to enact “massive unilateral amnesty” after the midterm elections.

“…If you care about your immigration security and your neighborhood security, you must act now to ensure that Congress stops this unilateral amnesty,” he said. “Let your voice be heard and spread the word to your neighbors. We who serve in our nation’s immigration agencies are pleading for your help – don’t let this happen. Express your concern to your Senators and Congressmen before it is too late.”

However, the Obama administration on Tuesday claimed the order is unrelated to any pending executive action. USCIS claims the order pertains only to the Senate-passed immigration bill which never became law.

"Solicitations of this nature are frequent practice for USCIS contracts and allow the Agency to be prepared for fluctuations in the number of immigration applications received, which can arise for a  number of reasons," spokesman Christopher S. Bentley said in a statement. "For this particular solicitation, USCIS analyzed, during the spring of 2013, the pending comprehensive immigration reform bill passed by the U.S. Senate to determine the surge capacity needed. This estimate had nothing to do with immigration relief actions planned by the president."

Last week, though, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest was less clear. Asked if the order was tied to a forthcoming presidential policy, Earnest said: "I would not suggest that that is an indication that that's what we're preparing to do." He said those trying to "read into" the orders for cards "are a little too cleverly trying to divine what the president's ultimate conclusion might be."

But he repeatedly would not say whether the orders were unrelated to a move by the president, claiming these kinds of decisions "are not micromanaged by the White House."

The USCIS union represents 12,000 officers of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the agency responsible for processing visas and other immigration papers. Palinkas said federal immigration officers are already struggling to complete their mission, and the new contract indicates things could get worse.

“Whether it’s the failure to uphold the public charge laws, the abuse of our asylum procedures, the admission of Islamist radicals, or visas for health risks, the taxpayers are being fleeced and public safety is being endangered on a daily basis,” he said.

The U.S. government produces about 3 million work permits and residency identification, known as green cards, annually. The new contract for at least 5 million cards a year would provide the administration with the flexibility to issue far more work permits or green cards even if it chose not to exercise that option.

Obama announced earlier this year that if Congress didn't pass immigration legislation, he would act on his own. After twice postponing a final decision, he said as recently as last month that he would hold off on executive actions until after November's midterm elections.
