Letter 1,
George bought all the land he couldn't afford, even the low sections along the side of the river that remained flooded most of the year, he had really big plans, it was 1866 and he was in New York state standing in the sunshine.
George bought all the land he couldn't afford, even the low sections along the side of the river that remained flooded most of the year, he had really big plans, it was 1866 and he was in New York state standing in the sunshine.
George was standing on the banks of the
tidal estuary in New York that everybody
called the east river even though it wasn't a river at all. He just bought 12,216 acres along the east river banks that
connected upper New York Bay on the South to Long Island Sound on its North
end. It was only a few years ago that George had been paddling around in his wooden boat and found Hillary taking a bath in the nasty water. His life had changed for ever after he fished out the naked woman called Hillary, she was smart, she was naked and she loved fu.king in his small boat when the sun went down. George Clinton knew that Hillary was a whore from the city but he didn't really care because she had a lot of political connections in New York City. She had pounded a lot of the boys in power and all of them were married so she loved making them mind and they always gave her money. Sure Hillary was a bitch but she was George's bitch now.
The cold river separates the borough of
Queens on Long Island from the Bronx on the North American mainland and it also
divides Manhattan from Queens and Brooklyn, which is also on Long Island. Hillary was a working girl from Queens so at times she dunked her dirty ass in the river and that's when George saw her for the first time. Some people knew that the river was dangerous
because strong fluctuations in its current but Hillary insisted on bathing a couple of times a week to get rid of the sex smell that always remained after her working hours. The river and its depth and narrowness were dangerous but boats
filled it daily and traveled its 16 miles and was the center of maritime
activities for New York City, New York. Hillary could often be seen naked on the banks of the river and many men gathered to watch the free show.
Most of the land George had just
purchased was in a low lying area with a meandering creek at the bottom
creating a valley of salt marshes and the dump for rubbish and some of the money came from Hillary, her pouch was always full of coins.
Where he was standing today, the southern
portion, is still the same as it must of appeared to George Washington with the
swamp grass on the valley floor. Clouds
of dust would arise during the day and every resident complained because the
ash dust could block the noon sunshine. Hillary was standing next to him on the river and her dress made of bright colored cloth made her almost look pretty if you about ten feet away.
His land was full of broken bottles,
rusted out bathtubs, old stinking garbage and ash hills almost the size of
mountain hills. When all the work was
done his ground would be ready for building over 300 buildings he had planned
and the swampy areas would be filled and landscaping put in and fresh water
lagoons built from that meandering stream at the bottom of the hill. George had contracted for over 10,000 shade
trees to be planted and a small railroad to travel the full 16 miles to carry
cash paying passengers and freight day and night. If George got his way he might even connect
to the Long Island Railroad some day, you just never knew.
He called his private project
"The Public Good Foundation" and its purpose was to create a better
and fuller life for every citizen, and the universal advancement of human
welfare.
George had discovered that individuals
were greedy and wanted wealth and communities also wanted wealth and power so
he had a plan to inspire thousands of people to work with their fellow citizens
for a more prosperous and worthy future, it was for the Public Good.
By this same time next year George
would be standing on clean ground watching hundreds of workers building his
central planning building that he would simply call the "Public Good
Tower" and he wanted it to stand at least 200 feet tall even though he was
told it was impossible.
From the top of the Public Good Tower
visitors could see the panorama dream that he carried in his head as he told
his investors that he could build the better world of tomorrow for thousands of
people and this would be only the beginning.
In his mind he could see the giant
central building and tower, the broad avenues with shade trees, the 300
buildings full of shops and homes for prosperous people and the promenades
where beautiful women could walk in public and take pleasure in their personal
safety as they stroll to a public dance and maybe even a marching band.
"The Public Good Foundation"
would have a President and that would always be George, everybody agreed. It would be operated just like a business and
his land would be divided into ten equal parts and every part would have a
manager or a governor that would be in charge of food, clothing, shelter,
education, arts, health, recreation, transportation, water, communications,
banking, distribution and every social service of these modern times and all of
the modern basic industries that would create the great prosperity.
George could almost see the recreation
areas, the basic factories, the shops and benches under shade trees. The whole plan
provided for free circulation if you were a member of the community and the
thousands of railroad passengers would be able to stop at any train station and
take a walk in paradise and enjoy shops, proper saloons and a great variety of
places to eat and even overnight accommodations. They would be able to walk on the wide
wooden sidewalks and enjoy buggy rides along the river on crushed stone roads
as water fountains would be surrounded by gardens with flowers and white
fences.
George had already contacted
Washington D.C. and if he would allow federal employees sizeable discounts and
free train transportation to the Union Army the government would help build the
railroad that was the money maker of this great enterprise. It would be required by the government that
George build them a Government Administration Building at his own expense so
George would need to borrow more money to entertain the government. The government wanted guaranteed low cost
amusement for government employees and Army soldiers so an amphitheatre would
be required for operas, plays and pageants.
George wanted gorgeous buildings, new
designs, new shapes and colors and the governor of New York wanted no colored
people, white only strip girls, cheap liquor, gondolas and boat racing,
swimming races and water sports of all kinds and without saying the proper
words he wanted a lot of cheap whores for a secret gentlemen's amusement area. The governor of New York also wanted a
Government Plaza and a direct connection to the "Public Good Tower"
where George would have his office.
George had very few plans completed
concerning the roads, bridges, sewer ditches or other parts of his plan but he felt the sun on his face and he was sure about everything.
George Clinton was going to have a long year.
