The President wanted to have cocktails and dinner off-the-record with her but he suddenly cancelled when the V.A. Veterans Administration Hospital scandal story broke. He would have someone call the general so they could get ready for the media and maybe dodge the trap door that the V.A. fell through. He never could understand why generals were so stupid, even his favorite one.

So he sat there in the Oval office and toyed with his late night cocktail when the Chairman of Joint Chiefs was announced and brought inside his private office.
The Navy Admiral was straight up and squared away and as the Chairman he was used to friendly fire from the President of the United States.  The embassy in Benghazi was still a problem and the President continued to lure the Admiral to lie about the militaries response or lack thereof.
It would be a short meeting.  The Admiral was to say they didn't have the assets to respond and the President would make sure he received very rewarding defense contracts when he left the service.
The Admiral would switch to civilian life in only three months or so and the President would dangle millions of dollars and bait the Admiral to lie, one more time.

The Pentagon would be told to sign the contract letter once the Admiral gave his comments on CNN on Sunday.  Influence peddling sure, but it was Washington D.C. and it was Barack Obama.
