The microphones swiveled and clicked into position as reporters from ABC, CBS, NBC and MSNBC with CNN in the background.. held their breath.

Stand by...stand by... three...two...one....

The digital circuits inside the White House Press room came to life as his  first words, his breathless suspense overcome as he turned slightly to his screen on his left and started reading  and pointing his finger, reminding everybody of the Clinton Speech, " I did not have sex with that women."

It took the President a few words to realize that he had failed every responsibility as the President of the United States. 

His body was covered by a blue jacket but his facial expressions gave away his pain and suffering.  Like black powder exploding inside the White House Press room his words filled the small space and the total hush continued as they listened to the President's speech and their eyes filled with tears.

The digital world made sure every word spoken by Barack Obama would shoot skyward and be re-broadcasted around the world.   The main stream media, six years with their ears stuffed with cotton, could not believe what Obama was saying.

The people inside the White House Press room had no idea that the roar just outside the White House grounds were almost deafening.  They were people grinning and laughing while others were gasping and crying but every word from Barack Obama penetrated every human being listening for the news.

People all over the world were watching America's Uncle Sam's team fall apart in front of the entire world.  There would be no final test of presidential impeachment as Barack Obama simultaneously pointing his finger and winking at the camera said the word "resign."

The single word, "resign" was the most powerful single word President Obama could every say out loud. 

He had pushed the button, it was over.
